The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA; /ˈɛkə/ EK-ə)[citation needed] is an agency of the European Union which manages the technical scientific and administrative aspects of the Registration Evaluation Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) system. ECHA is the driving force among regulatory authorities in implementing the EU’s groundbreaking chemicals legislation for the benefit of human health and the environment as well as for innovation and competitiveness.
