Emodin (from Rheum emodi a Himalayan rhubarb) is a purgative resin 6-methyl-138-trihydroxyanthraquinone from rhubarb buckthorn and Japanese knotweed (Fallopia japonica syn. Polygonum cuspidatum). It can also be isomers in botanical extracts.
