The EMD GA8 locomotive is an EMD GL8 built for freight car trucks. They have two D29 traction motors and were designed for extremely sharp curves and low weight per axle. They have an 8-567C motor that can produce 950 hp (710 kW) of power 875 to the axles. NdeM of Mexico All Argentina and Taiwan Railway Administration have purchased these locomotives.
