The Elite Football League of India (EFLI) is the first men’s professional gridiron football league in India Sri Lanka and Pakistan. When play began on 22 September 2012 eight teams represented various cities across India two in Sri Lanka and one in Pakistan. The EFLI’s launch is backed by both the government of India and the Sports Authority of India.
