Eli Houston Murray (February 10 1843 – November 18 1896) was Governor of Utah Territory between 1880 and 1886.Murray had been brevetted to the rank of brigadier general in the American Civil War and was appointed Governor in 1880.The newly appointed anti-Mormon territorial governor openly supported the Liberal Party of Utah.
