The General Intelligence Directorate (GID Arabic: جهاز المخابرات العامة / Gihaz al-Mukhabarat al-Amma) often called the Mukhabarat (Arabic: المخابرات / al-Mukhabarat) is an Egyptian intelligence agency responsible for providing national security intelligence both domestically and transnationally with a counter-terrorism focus.
