Edinburgh Crossrail is a suburban rail service through Edinburgh Scotland from Newcraighall in the east to Dalmeny in the west and thence to Fife. Edinburgh Crossrail opened in 2002. On the northern stub of the former Waverley Line from Carlisle the line has new stations at Brunstane and Newcraighall. All trains travel via Edinburgh Waverley and Haymarket and some call at another new station Edinburgh Park at the western edge of the city.Passenger services are operated by First ScotRail.
