Eddie Weichers has been the head boxing coach at the United States Air Force Academy since 1976 and has led the Academy’s boxing team to 18 national collegiate boxing championships.As a collegian Coach Weichers left football to take up boxing. He eventually won the 190-pound championship for West Chester University in 1973. He started as an assistant coach at his alma mater when in 1976 was offered the coaching job at the Air Force Academy.
