The Earth Radiation Budget Satellite (ERBS) was a NASA scientific research satellite launched on October 5 1984 to study the Earth’s radiation budget and stratospheric aerosol and gases. It was carried into low earth orbit and deployed by the Space Shuttle Challenger during the STS-41-G mission.
