Downtown Dubai Tramway is a tram system to be built in Downtown Dubai. The project was announced by Emaar on 23 April 2008. The total cost will be AED 500 million upon completion it will become the first of its kind in Dubai. It will have two synchronized services within one tram transportation system. The total length of Tramway will be 4.6 kilometres (2.9 mi). The tramway of Downtown Dubai has been divided in two phase:
