Dorothy Hood (1919-2000) was an American painter. She studied at Rhode Island School of Design and the Art Students League of New York. In 1988 she received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Women’s Caucus for Art. She was married to José María Velasco Maidana. Pablo Neruda wrote a poem about her.
