Dopamine beta-monooxygenase also known as dopamine beta-hydroxylase is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the DBH gene. Dopamine beta-monooxygenase catalyzes the chemical reaction:The 3 substrates of this enzyme are 34-dihydroxyphenethylamine ascorbate and O2 whereas its 3 products are noradrenaline dehydroascorbate and H2O.This enzyme belongs to the family of oxidoreductases specifically those acting on paired donors with O2 as oxidant and incorporation or reduction of oxygen.
