The Directorate of Intelligence (G2) is the national intelligence agency of Ireland a military intelligence branch of the Defence Forces the Irish armed forces. The organisation has responsibility for Ireland’s national security and operates domestic intelligence and foreign intelligence sections. The G2 comprises the National Security Intelligence Section and Defence Intelligence Section.
