Diphenidine (1-(12-diphenylethyl)piperidine) is a chemical that acts as an NMDA receptor channel blocker and is currently sold as a designer drug. Its pharmacology in humans has not been studied. Diphenidine and several related derivatives have been studied as neuroprotective agents for the treatment of brain injury following hypoxia (e.g. during a stroke) with the 2-chlorophenyl derivative possessing the greatest affinity.
