Diminazen(e) is an antiinfective drug for animals commercialized as Azidin Berenil Ganasag or Pirocide directed e.g. against infections with Babesia Trypanosoma and Cytauxzoon and some bacteria such as Brucella and Streptococcus.Chemically it is a di-amidine and it is used in form of the aceturate (N-acetylglycinate).The mechanism is not well understood; it probably inhibits DNA replication but also has affinity to RNA.
