Diglyceride acyltransferase (or O-acyltransferase) DGAT catalyzes the formation of triglycerides from diacylglycerol and Acyl-CoA. The reaction catalyzed by DGAT is considered the terminal and only committed step in triglyceride synthesis and to be essential for the formation of adipose tissue.
