The Derung (also spelt Drung or Dulong) people (simplified Chinese: 独龙族; traditional Chinese: 獨龍族; pinyin: Dúlóngzú; endonym: [tɯɹɯŋ]) are an ethnic group. They form one of the 56 ethnic groups officially recognized by the People’s Republic of China. Their population of 6000 is found in the Nujiang Autonomous Prefecture of Yunnan province in the Dulong valley.
