The Department of Transport and Main Roads is a department of the Queensland Government. The department manages Queensland’s approximately 33000 km state-controlled road network which includes more than 6500 bridges and major culverts. It was formed in April 2009 when the former Queensland Transport and the Department of Main Roads were merged.There are more than 10000 people working for the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
