Decidual reaction refers to the changes in endometrium of the uterus that prepare it for implantation of a fertilized zygote. These changes are also obeserved in each menstrual cycle. However decidual reaction is enhanced after implantation. These changes include swelling of stromal cell due to glycogen and other nutrients. These nutrients help the embroyo survive the intital days before placenta is fully developed which then establishes a channel for fetus nutrition exchange.
