The DC Filibusters where originally known as the Washington Power. Before the start of the 2009-10 season the team changed their name to the DC Filibusters. After 3 games of play the DC Filibusters fell on hard times and Mike Staple took over control of the team. Mike Staple moved the team to Grand Rapids MI and released all of the original DC players.The Filibusters moved divisions from the South to the North to accommodate their new home location.
