David Daniel Platt (né Tilsley) is a fictional character in the UK television ITV soap opera Coronation Street. The character is born onscreen during the episode airing on 26 December 1990 although the episode set on 25 December and is portrayed by actor Jack P. Shepherd who took over the role in 2000 from Thomas Ormson who had portrayed the character since his inception.
