David M. Lawson (born 1951) is a United States federal judge on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.Born in Detroit Michigan Lawson graduated from Brother Rice High School in 1969. He received a B.A. in English from the University of Notre Dame in 1973 and a J.D. from Wayne State University Law School in 1976. He was a law clerk for the Hon. James L. Ryan Michigan Supreme Court from 1976 to 1977. He was in private practice from 1977 to 2000.
