David Gwilym Morris Roberts (born July 1925) is a British civil engineer. Born in Wales he grew up in Merseyside before attending Cambridge University. After graduation he served with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve including several cruises aboard HMS Sheffield reaching the rank of lieutenant commander. Upon retirement from the Navy Roberts found employment with John Taylor & Sons where he remained for the rest of his career.
