Dat Nguyen (born October 10 1982 Bien Hoa Vietnam is a Vietnamese-American boxer.Following residence in a refugee camp in the Philippines Nguyen’s family moved to the United States. In 2001 he received a full scholarship to Northern Michigan University site of one of the three United States Olympic Training Centers. In 2002 he won a silver medal at the Golden Gloves and a bronze medal in the 2003 U.S. Championships making him the first Vietnamese-American to win a spot at the U.S.
