Daniel R. Mackesey was born July 14 1954 in Ithaca New York and attended Cornell University where he was a member of the Quill and Dagger society and graduated cum laude in 1977.While at Cornell Mackesey played on the lacrosse team with distinction. He was an integral member of Cornell’s national championship teams in 1976 and 1977. He was a first team All-American both of those seasons as well as winning All-Ivy honors.
