In enzymology a D-lactate dehydrogenase (cytochrome) (EC 1.1.2.4) is an enzyme that catalyzes the chemical reaction(D)-lactate + 2 ferricytochrome c pyruvate + 2 ferrocytochrome cThus the two substrates of this enzyme are (D)-lactate and ferricytochrome c whereas its two products are pyruvate and ferrocytochrome c.This enzyme belongs to the family of oxidoreductases specifically those acting on the CH-OH group of donor with a cytochrome as acceptor.
