Denis Joseph D. J. Carey (born 11 November 1970) is an Irish retired hurler who played as a left wing-forward for the Kilkenny senior team.Born in Gowran County Kilkenny Carey first excelled at hurling whilst at school in St. Kieran’s College. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Kilkenny minor team before later lining out with the under-21 side. He made his senior debut in the 1989-90 National Hurling League.
