Cytochrome b561 is an integral membrane protein responsible for electron transport binding two heme groups non-covalently. It was found in eukaryotic cells and also in a number of prokaryotic nickel-dependent hydrogenase subunits which are also B-type cytochromes that interact with quinones and anchor the hydrogenase to the membrane.
