Cyril Easthaugh MC was an Anglican bishop who served two decade-long periods firstly in Kensington and latterly Peterborough. An opponent of union with the Methodist Church he was born on 22 December 1897. Commissioned into the South Staffordshire Regiment during the Great War he served with distinction winning the Military Cross in 1917. He was ordained priest in 1930 and was chaplain at Cuddesdon until 1934; and then vice-principal until 1935.
