Cymserine is a drug related to physostigmine which acts as a reversible cholinesterase inhibitor with moderate selectivity (15x) for the plasma cholinesterase enzyme butyrylcholinesterase and relatively weaker inhibition of the more well known acetylcholinesterase enzyme.
