Cryptomenorrhea or cryptomenorrhoea also known as hematocolpos[citation needed] is a condition where menstruation occurs but is not visible due to an obstruction of the outflow tract. A patient with cryptomenorrhea will appear to have amenorrhea but will experience cyclic menstrual pain.
