Corazon Nuñez-Malanyaon is the governor of the Philippine province of Davao Oriental. She was first elected in 2007. She is Davao Oriental’s third female governor.[1][2]In a recent expose published on the Philippine Daily Inquirer’s news website [3] Governor Malanyaon was named as one of three influential people holding logging permits that were abused. It contributed to the devastating number of casualties that were left in the wake of super typhoon Pablo.
