The Citra Award for Best Leading Actor (Indonesian: Piala Citra untuk Pemeran Pria Utama) is an award given at the Indonesian Film Festival (IFF) to Indonesian actors for their achievements in lead roles. Described by Screen International as Indonesia’s equivalent to the Oscars the Citra Awards are the country’s most prestigious film awards. They are intended to recognise Indonesian achievements in film and draw the public’s interest to the cinema industry.
