A choc ice is the British English term for a generic frozen dessert generally consisting of a rectangular block of ice cream — typically vanilla flavour — thinly coated with chocolate. Views vary as to whether it is a choc ice if it has a stick. In many countries there are numerous versions of this dessert produced under different brand names. One notable brand is Klondike. The first one was sold in the United States in 1922 and named after the Klondike River in Alaska and Canada.
