The Charrúa were an indigenous people of South America in present-day Uruguay and the surrounding areas of Argentina and Brazil. Historically they lived in Uruguay Entre Ríos and Rio Grande do Sul. They were a semi-nomadic people that sustained themselves through fishing hunting and gathering.
