Chana masala [ˈtʃənaː məˈsaːlaː] also known as chole masala or channay (plural) is a popular Punjabi dish in Pakistani and Indian cuisine. The main ingredient is chickpeas (called chana in Hindustani). It is fairly dry and spicy with a sour citrus note.
