The Central Park Conservancy is a private nonprofit organization that manages Central Park under a contract with the City of New York. Since its founding in 1980 by a group of dedicated civic and philanthropic leaders the Conservancy has invested more than $600 million toward the restoration and enhancement of Central Park and is considered a model for urban park management worldwide.
