The twenty-sixth series of the British medical drama television series Casualty commenced airing in the United Kingdom on BBC One on 13 August 2011. Series 26 was the first to be broadcast in August from the series start and in high definition from episode 17 onwards which was also the first episode filmed at Cardiff. BBC One advertised the new year episodes as the new series but this was in fact incorrect and was a continuation from series 26 and not the start of series 27.
