Carolyn House (born August 23 1945) is an American former competition swimmer and former world record-holder. At the age of 15 she competed in the preliminary heats of the women’s 400-meter freestyle at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome clocking a time of 5:00.7.During a ten-day span in August 1962 she broke the world records in both the 800-meter and 1500-meter freestyle events.
