Carole Joan Crawford (born 1943) won the 1963 Miss World contest representing Jamaica. At age 20 the 5’3 (1.59 m) beauty – short by Miss World standards – made history by becoming the first delegate from her country to win the title. The pageant was held in London United Kingdom. She was from Kingston. She had been selected to represent her country in the competition after having won the first official Miss Jamaica World title.
