The Carmarthen and Cardigan Railway was a 7 ft 1⁄4 in (2140 mm) broad gauge railway from Carmarthen Carmarthenshire to Newcastle Emlyn Wales. Part of the route is now used by the Teifi Valley Railway and the Gwili Railway.Despite the name the line never reached Cardigan. Instead that was achieved by the Whitland & Cardigan Railway which took a more westerly route and became a branch of the Great Western Railway
