Carl Eduard Adolph Gerstaecker (30 August 1828 Berlin – 20 June 1895 Greifswald) was a German zoologist and entomologist. After studying medicine and natural sciences in Berlin he was from 1857 to 1876 Curator of the Zoological Museum of Humboldt University. In 1874 he became a professor for Zoology at the University of Berlin and 1876 a professor of Zoology at the University of Greifswald. In 1894 he became a lecturer at the Agricultural Institute of Berlin now a faculty of the university.
