Carl A. Bergmanson (born August 16 1960) is a conservative Democrat and was the mayor of Glen Ridge New Jersey a borough 10 miles west of New York City from 2004 – 2007. Bergmanson is a vocal critic of the Democratic Party establishment in New Jersey. He was a candidate for the Democratic nomination for Governor of New Jersey in the 2013 election.In 2008 Bergmanson led an unsuccessful campaign to recall Governor Jon Corzine the first effort to recall a governor in New Jersey history.
