The Campeonato Nacional da 1ª Divisão is the premier portuguese roller hockey national league. It was founded in 1939 and Sporting CP were crowned as the first champions. Currently the league is contested by 16 teams with the top four teams qualifying for the following season’s CERH European League and the fifth to eighth placed teams qualifying for the CERS Cup. The bottom four teams are relegated to Campeonato Nacional da 2ª Divisão.
