Cambarellus shufeldtii is a small species of crayfish native to the Southern United States. The males reach a length of about 1.5 inches (38 mm) while the females are somewhat smaller. They are easily bred in a tank and kept by freshwater aquarists who commonly refer to them as Cajun dwarf crayfish. Their life expectancy is 2โ€“3 years. They are native to Texas Louisiana Missouri Illinois Arkansas Mississippi Alabama Tennessee and Kentucky. They are an introduced species in Georgia.
