Calcium chlorate is the calcium salt of chloric acid with the chemical formula of Ca(ClO3)2. Like potassium chlorate it is a strong oxidizer and can be used in pyrotechnic formulations. It may explode when heated strongly or in the presence of reducing agents such as organic matter.It can be formed by oxidation of calcium chloride by a strong oxidizing agent.
