Cajun French’ (French: français cadien/français cadjin) (sometimes called Louisiana Regional French) is a variety of the French language spoken primarily in Louisiana specifically in the southern and southwestern parishes.While historically other Louisiana French dialects including Colonial or Plantation Society French have been spoken in the state these are now considered to have largely merged with the original Cajun dialects.
