Cadence-lypso is the Dominica kadans of the 1970s popularized by Grammacks and Exile One. It combined elements of the Haitian Cadence rampa and compas with the Trinidadian calypso hence the name cadence-lypso; however most of the bands repertoire was kadans.Cadence-lypso or kadans became very popular in the kwéyòlpal Caribbean during the 1970s.
