The Butuanon are part of the wider Visayan ethnolinguistic group who constitute the largest Filipino ethnolinguistic group. The Butuanon are one of the smallest Visayan ethnic groups. As with the Surigaonons the Butuanons are also previously considered as Cebuanos.
