Bupropion (/bjuːˈproʊpi.ɒn/ bew-PROH-pee-on;) is a drug primarily used as an atypical antidepressant and smoking cessation aid. Marketed as Wellbutrin Budeprion Prexaton Elontril Aplenzin or other trade names it is one of the most frequently prescribed antidepressants in the United States. Marketed in lower-dose formulations as Zyban Voxra or other names it is also widely used to reduce nicotine cravings by people who are trying to quit smoking.
